Research that works for developing countries and AustraliaJohn Allwright Fellowships Returnee AwardsReturnee Small Project Awards Scheme ACIAR has initiated a small grants scheme for John Allwright Fellows who, after completion of their postgraduate studies, have returned to relevant employment in their home country. It provides grants of up to $10,000 for an activity that continues, or is related to, the research done within the ACIAR project with which an awardee was associated. The funding grants are primarily aimed at developing small-scale research projects in the returnee’s institution, which may catalyse longer-term support. To date nineteen awards have been made to former fellows from eleven countries, with further applications under consideration. All former John Allwright Fellows are contacted by mail annually and provided with ACIAR publications and information on our current program in their country. Many of our former students have now risen to senior positions in their home country. For further information please contact: Mrs Sharon Harvey, Secretariat |
