Research that works for developing countries and Australia

Dr Debbie Templeton

Debbie Templeton is the Research Program Manager (acting) for the Livestock Production Systems Program. The primary aim of the Program is to build a complete understanding of the biological, social and economic aspects of livestock systems kept by smallholder farmers (small and large ruminants, pigs and poultry). The Livestock Production Systems program focuses on enabling equitable access to markets; optimising crop-livestock systems and livestock production. Debbie Templeton

Dr Templeton undertook her economics graduate degree at the Australian National University in Canberra, while employed as a research officer by the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics. In 1993, she combined work with study completing her Graduate Diploma of Agricultural Economics in 1995 and her Master of Economics Degree in 1997. In 1998, she commenced her PhD. The post-graduate degrees were undertaken through the University of New England, and the research component of each focused on economic impact assessment.
