Paul Tyrrell

Paul Tyrrell is Chief Finance Officer for ACIAR. His responsibilities include providing strategic financial advice to the Executive and Board, and  oversight of the Finance Section’s operations.

Mr Tyrrell has a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. He began his employment at the Australian Bureau of Statistics, during which time he completed his degree. He has also worked for both the ACT Regional and Central Offices of the Australian National Audit Office. Mr Tyrrell has also worked for the Department of the Arts, Sport, the Environment, Tourism and Territories and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs. He has been a member of the CPA Australia since 1981 and received a Highly Commended award in the CPA Australia Public Sector Accountant of the Year in 2000. Mr Tyrrell is also a co-founder and has chaired the Management Accountants Discussion Group, an inter-agency forum to discuss issues relating to financial reporting in Government Departments and Agencies.
