Bacterial Wilt Disease in Asia and the South Pacific

Bacterial wilt, caused largely by Pseudomonas solanacearum, is one of the most destructive bacterial plant diseases. It causes devasting losses in affected potatoes and tomatoes, and affected crops of economic importance in the Asia/Pacific region, such as tobacco, banana and peanut. These proceedings, which consists of 21 papers plus discussions and recommendations, outline the extent of the problems caused by P. solanacearum, progress in research, future research needs, and constraints to developing prevention and control strategies.
