Plantations of at least 8 million ha of eucalypts, 1 million ha of acacias and 1 million ha of casuarinas have been established mostly in developing countries to help meet the need for industrial wood, domestic building material, fuelwood, soil stabilisation and non-wood products. This small project aims to provide certified seeds to developing country institutions so that they may establish seed orchards, and also provide them with up-to-date information on selection, improvement, silviculture and management of plantations. In addition, the project provides training courses for recipients of seeds. Project Outcomes Outcomes for this project are currently being prepared |
