Project Background and Objectives

The project will develop methods with which to identify and validate criteria and indicators for sustainable management (C&I) of plantation forests in collaboration with partners in India, Indonesia and Australia. Using these methods inter-disciplinary teams of experts will develop C & I for the selected plantation sites. The outcome of this research will contribute to national and international efforts to develop C & I for sustainable forest management as outlined under Agenda 21 of the non-legally binding agreement at UNCED and more recently under IPF.
