Project Background and Objectives

The project aims to develop a generic method of rapid biodiversity assessment (RBA) that can be used to complete the ASB Phase II target of quantifying impacts on biodiversity and productivity along definable land use intensification gradients at landscape level. If this is achieved it will help define gradients of sustainablility and thus parameters for generating improved management options for forested landscapes. As far as possible the project will be integrated with other ASB activities in order to facilitate the establishment of systems and linkages to support the overall ASB goal. The target clients are middle management, policy planners and researchers, with the landowners as the ultimate beneficiaries.
