Bioversity International is the world's largest international research organization dedicated solely to the conservation and use of agricultural biodiversity. Bioversity is committed to research that can:

  • help foster sustainable development
  • help people living in poverty secure dignified and sustainable livelihoods through food and agricultural production
  • help raise nutrition levels in areas where hunger is widespread
  • help keep communities and the environment healthy.

Australia supports Bioversity through contributions of core funding and project specific funding.

For more information about Bioversity's work, see its website.

Bioversity International produce regular publications that give an indication of their current activities and future plans. These include an Annual Report which looks that their activities over the calendar year 2006. It also produces a Medium-Term Plan (that details their organisational direction for 2008-2010) and an External Program and Management Review (that reviews their organisational management), both of which are available by contacting Bioversity International.
