Research that works for developing countries and Australia

International Potato Center

Overview

The International Potato Center (CIP) works with partner countries, including Australia, to carry out research on potato and root and tuber crops. Australia's partnership involves the provision of core funding of AUD250,000 (in 2005-06), as well as funding allocated to specific projects. CIP works to reduce poverty and achieve food security on a sustainable basis in developing countries where potato, sweet potato and other root and tuber crops are grown. For more information about CIP, see its website, http://www.cipotato.org.

CIP produce regular publications that give an indication of their current activities and future plans. These include an Annual Report which looks that their activities over the calendar year, and a Medium-Term Plan that details their organisational direction for 2008-2010. It also includes an External Program and Management Review that is available by contacting CIP.
