Research that works for developing countries and Australia

International Food Policy Research Institute

Overview

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) collaborates with private and government donors and organisations to identify and analyse strategies and policies for meeting food needs on a sustainable basis. Australia provides both core funding of AUD500,000 (in 2005-06), and commissions research through specific projects targeting problems relating to food production and increasing equity of distribution. The Institute's activities aim to extend understanding of the complex issues surrounding the reduction of hunger and malnutrition. For more information about IFPRI, see its website, http://www.ifpri.org.

IFPRI produce regular publications that give an indication of their current activities and future plans. These include an Annual Report which looks that their activities over the calendar year 2006, and a Medium-Term Plan that details their organisational direction for 2008-2010. It also includes an External Program and Management Review that is available by contacting IFPRI.
