International Institute of Tropical Agriculture

Overview

The International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and Australia work together on specific projects that help to improve food production and develop sustainable production systems in the humid tropics. IITA's work enhances food security, income and well-being of resource poor people primarily in the tropical regions of sub-Saharan Africa, through research partnerships with national and international stakeholders to deliver benefits. Projects include germplasm conservation, training and information exchange in addition to research activities. For more information about IITA, see its website, http://www.iita.org.

ICRISAT produce regular publications that give an indication of their current activities and future plans. These include an Annual Report which looks that their activities over the calendar year 2006, and a Medium-Term Plan that details their organisational direction for 2008-2010.
