Summary

Significant advances in grain harvesting, drying, handling, storage and milling have occurred in the ASEAN region in the last decade. A workshop in 1986 provided a forum for technologists, economists and sociologists to debate issues arising from this new technology. They identified many of the social, economic and physical processes that are important in assessing the private and social benefits of changes in technology of grain handling equipment and operating procedures. These proceedings consist of 19 invited papers.
