OUT-OF-PRINT High yields from new early-maturing varieties of rice and the development of systems enabling two crops per year have created problems for the existing grain handling system in the ASEAN region. Crops harvested in the wet season deteriorate rapidly unless dried to a safe moisture content shortly after harvesting. This publication explores the link between technical and economic components of bulk handling and gives guidelines for its introduction into the ASEAN region.
