Among Australia’s neighbours in Pacific island countries, the COVID-19 pandemic has precipitated a decrease in external sources of income, such as tourism. The loss of external income has further amplified social and economic challenges in a region fighting a rapidly changing climate and deteriorating food security. This project aimed to identify and improve the transferability of agricultural skills and knowledge between Australia and the Pacific and support innovative skills and knowledge transfer for climate change adaptation in agriculture. Findings of this report are relevant to previous and new Australian Government labour mobility schemes.
