The purpose of this position is to provide a unique work experience opportunity for a young Australian graduate with an interest in international agricultural research and policy development within ACIAR.
The graduate will be mentored for the duration of the program by a number of Research Program Managers (RPM) from different disciplines.
This position is specifically targeted as a 12-month graduate position. It will provide an experience for the graduate to enable the development for possible roles within international agricultural research institutions in Australia and internationally or the broader public service as opportunities become available.
ACIAR has two positions available for our 2019 intake. We are looking for individuals who have completed studies in agricultural sciences such as livestock systems, fisheries, veterinary science, animal/health/nutrition, crops, horticulture, agronomy.
The position has responsibility for assisting Research Program Managers (RPMs) with developing and supporting a portfolio of research for development projects commissioned by ACIAR. The projects involve research institutions in Australia, developing countries and International Agricultural Research Centres carrying out agricultural research within ACIAR's geographical mandate area.
The position will provide the opportunity to improve project management and coordination skills for the graduate. You will work in small teams consisting of RPMs and Program Support Officers (PSOs). You may be required to travel overseas to assist in the delivery of program objectives, however, the amount of travel and opportunity will be determined upon assignment. Classification: APS4, 12-month non-ongoing contract
Salary: $65,132 per annum, plus 15.4% super (expected 2% salary increase December 2018)
