Economic Impact of Ticks and Tick-Borne Diseases to Livestock in Africa, Asia and Australia

Final Report of Joint ESYS/International Livestock Research Institute/Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research Tick Cost Project-Economic Impact of Tick-Borne Diseases to Livestock in Africa, Asia and Australia.

Tick-borne diseases constrain cattle production in Asia, Africa and Australia.
The diseases theileriosis, babesiosis, anaplasmosis and heartwater can cause mortality,
along with reduced milk and meat production. The estimation of tick-borne disease
costs will help researchers and policy-makers set research priorities
and identify potential economic benefits of animal-health.
