Improved methods for the diagnosis and control of bluetongue in small ruminants in Asia and the epidemiology and control of bovine ephemeral fever in China

Information from ACIAR supported research has led to the development of a successful and widely-used vaccine for bovine ephemeral fever (BEF) - a disease which causes widespread economic losses in China. This report assesses the impacts of a number of completed projects designed to improve diagnosis and control of BEF in cattle and bluetongue in sheep.
