Building research and project management skills in fisheries staff in Papua New Guinea

This project aims to train staff at the Papua New Guinean National Fisheries Authority (NFA) in scientific and technical skills needed to develop the organisation and to implement research projects.
The aquaculture and fisheries industries are central to coastal and inland communities' food supply and livelihoods.
This project will investigate methods to build research and project management capacity in Papua New Guinea. In the short term, this work will improve planning, delivery and extension of fisheries science. Longer-term outcomes will be increased effectiveness of NFA and sustainability of Papua New Guinea fisheries resources.
