Accessibility help

Accessibility is a general term used to describe the degree to which a system is usable by as many people as possible. ACIAR is continuously seeking to improve the experience of all users of its website by researching and applying the latest accessibility guidelines.

If you would like to comment on or report a particular accessibility issue, please use the contact form at http://www.aciar.gov.au/contact and select the category Web related.

Low bandwidth

Low bandwidth is an important factor in accessing information online and ACIAR is currently reviewing its website to ensure it can be used easily over low bandwidth.
In addition, one of the quickest ways for a user to reduce the size of a website is to turn off images. This can be done by configuring your browser so that images are not downloaded automatically:

Configuring Internet Explorer

In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, click Internet Options, and then click the Advanced tab. Check or uncheck the options that best suit your needs, particularly the multimedia options - you may choose not to show pictures, play sounds or animations. These settings will take effect when you restart your browser and will apply for all websites viewed. To restore the default settings, click on Restore advanced settings and Apply.

Configuring Mozilla Firefox

To disable images in Firefox, click the Tools button, click Options, and then click Content and uncheck the Load images automatically box.
