Overview

Giant clams are a source of food and income for the people of the Indo-Pacific region. The depletion of stocks has led to several major research projects aimed at the culture of these animals. Recent success in this area has meant that more information is needed regarding diseases and disease status in order to diagnose causes of abnormalities, sickness and death. The aim of this manual is to provide a clear and simple guide to the anatomy and histology of the giant clam, so that the developing countries of the Pacific region have a greater understanding of these unique animals. The techniques detailed in this monograph were chosen because they were relatively simple, cheap and safe. OUT OF STOCK - AVAILABLE ONLINE ONLY
