Overview

This project aimed to develop capabilities in inclusive agribusiness research, leadership and collaboration with selected researchers, policy makers and private sector managers in the Philippines.

The agribusiness masterclass has been a long-running ACIAR program that aims to build market and value chain research capacity in-country.

By harnessing regional agribusiness masterclass expertise and building on outcomes of agribusiness projects in the Philippines, the project develops capabilities in inclusive agribusiness research, leadership and collaboration with selected researchers, policy makers and private sector managers associated with Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) and ACIAR agribusiness research and innovation in the Philippines.

Project outcomes

  • Developing and delivering short-course training in key agribusiness research, management and leadership concepts for PCAARRD Industry Strategic Science and Technology Plan (ISP) managers;
  • Adapting the Agribusiness Master Class, including new modules, content and case studies to suit the learning needs and contexts in the Philippines.
  • Delivering and evaluating the Agribusiness master class with a focus on analytical capability to identify opportunities and partners for inclusive agribusiness-led development in value chains in the Philippines.
