Overview

ACIAR’s Corporate Plan 2018–19 outlines our aspirations and direction for the next four years. It is ACIAR’s first Corporate Plan to be guided by our new 10–year Strategy. Our performance is demonstrated by the conception, implementation, management and review of research for development projects. For the coming four years, all our research projects will be developed in alignment with the high-level objectives set out in our 10-year Strategy.

In 2018–19, more than 200 projects will be conducted in 35 countries. Supporting this program of research for development is ACIAR’s new research structure, which from July 2018 comprises 10 programs. The programs cover key agriculture sectors (crops, livestock, horticulture, fisheries and forestry), as well as the science needed to sustain the resource base (soil and land management, and water and climate) and disciplines that generate economic and social benefits (agribusiness and social sciences). An impact evaluation program will assess the achievements of research and guide future investment.

This Corporate Plan 2018–19 describes our purpose, organisation, performance, capability and risk oversight and management. The plan covers the 2018–19 to 2021–22 reporting periods. It has been prepared as required under paragraph 35(1)(b) of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act) and in accordance with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Rule 2014.
