Overview
The ACIAR Corporate Plan for 2019–20 outlines our aspirations and direction for the next four years. Through partnerships, we will continue to grow the knowledge base for agricultural research-for-development, and in turn, improve livelihoods of smallholder farmers and fishers in our partner countries. Along the way, we will introduce new technologies, risk management and capabilities to Australian agriculture and agricultural sciences, generating a very high return on public investment.
Our performance is measured against achievements within three areas of investment, which all have the common goal of engaging with partners to achieve our purpose.
- Our Global Program fosters and manages multilateral research collaborations and co-investment.
- Our Bilateral Program brokers and manages bilateral research partnerships in partner countries.
- Our Capacity Building Program identifies and establishes opportunities for individuals and institutions in partner countries to boost technical, policy and management skills in agricultural research-for-development.
ACIAR research projects, programs and partnerships will be developed in alignment with the high-level objectives set out in our 10-Year Strategy 2018–2027.
The Corporate Plan 2019–20 describes our purpose, organisation, performance, capability and risk oversight and management for the 2019–20 to 2022–23 reporting periods. It has been prepared as required under paragraph 35(1)(b) of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act) and in accordance with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Rule 2014.
