Overview
Shrimp farming expanded rapidly in Thailand and other countries in Asia in the early 1990s, but productivity plateaued and then went into decline. ACIAR funded a project and an associated workshop. The program covered many aspects of shrimp farming, such as farmer issues in Thailand and Australia; research issues in the Asia-Pacific Region; shrimp diseases and health management; environmental management and integration into coastal zone planning; social impacts, economics and trade.
