Overview

Our support to the South Asia region is strongly focused on regional research collaboration with Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The ACIAR regional strategy focuses on communities, production systems and resource management which look to identify appropriate reform policy, increase adoption of technology, improve productivity and livelihoods in marginalised communities and improve productivity of crop, livestock, forestry and fisheries systems. South Asia priorities

  • Understanding and addressing the impacts of climate change on food systems and livelihood security.
  • Developing sustainable and equitable water management systems at the farm, community and institutional level.
  • Intensifying cropping systems, climate resilience and soil and water management issues.
  • Embedding security and a high degree of caution in all programs and projects.
